Many companies produce testimonials.
Few do them well. We pioneered the genre for radio, and were
still the best in the business.
There are many different production styles or
editing approaches that can be adopted, as demonstrated here,
but at the core of every successful testimonial campaign,
there must be likeable listeners representing the right demographics,
and they must speak with entertaining enthusiasm without sacrificing
credibility. It is the hardest type of commercial to execute
well, and the way these folks are interviewed and directed
is critical. Listeners cant be told what
to say. Theyve got to volunteer their own
reasons for loving the station, and it makes a real difference
in both the warmth and the credibility of the marketing message.
With the right director, editors dont have to string
together one and two-word, artificially coached
repetitions of the dial position (ie. Okay, can you
say that again louder?).
Our approach to testimonials involves a goodly amount of
advance time. First we find the right people, and then we
actually letem talk about what they really feel about
the station. End result - Its pretty much always exactly
what the marketing research guys want to hear, and more importantly,
its as entertaining as it is believable. We also include
some pampering time to assist them with make-up and on-location
lighting that flatters. Look at our testimonials, then look
at the competition. If you dont see a difference in
quality, go with the other guys. Theyll be cheaper.
